SS4A Implementation Grant Deadline

May 16 @ 5:00 pm EDT

U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)

Action Plans are the foundation of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program.  SS4A provides two types of grants for initiatives that prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. This entry is specific to the SS4A Implementation Grants.

DOT seeks to make awards to projects and strategies that among other criteria save lives and reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries; incorporate equity, engagement, and collaboration into how projects and strategies are executed, and will be able to complete the full scope of funded projects and strategies within five years after the establishment of a grant agreement. Additional award consideration will be made for applicants who have a high percentage of funds that benefit underserved communities, are in rural areas, request less than $10 million in federal funds, support geographic diversity amongst the Implementation Grant recipients, have a finalized comprehensive safety action plan, and/or have a high killed and serious injuries per $1 million in federal funding rate.

Eligible Entities: Includes counties, cities, towns, transit agencies, other special districts, metropolitan planning organizations, and federally recognized Tribal governments, among others
Award Amount: An expected minimum of $2.5 million and an expected maximum of $25 million in SS4A funding, although DOT reserves the right to make awards less than the total amount requested by the applicant
Required Match:
